The Waukee Community Schools Foundation believes in the next generation. Just as the Foundation invests in Waukee’s teachers and classrooms to develop an empowered generation of empathetic, creative, and thoughtful students, the Foundation also invests in Waukee’s youth as they leave our community to pursue their post-secondary endeavors.

The Waukee Community Schools Foundation’s scholarship program identifies graduating seniors who are committed to changing the world for the better. We support graduating seniors who have a vision for their future, even if the specifics are still being determined. (Hey graduating seniors: a lot of adults are still trying to figure out what they want to be when they grow up, too!) The Foundation recognizes that many of the people who are truly making a difference in the world don’t always have clear paths and plans for their future, but they can articulate what they care about and have a vision for how it will play out. Sound like a graduating senior you know?

The Waukee High School class of 2021 is encouraged to apply for a post-secondary scholarship from the Waukee Community Schools Foundation by completing the online application found HERE  (click on What We Do/Scholarship Application). Students must detail the positive impact they’ve made on their family, school, or community. The WCSF scholarship program is not based on GPA, instead, we’re interested in learning how the applicant has impacted the world around them. Students selected to advance to the find round will be asked to attend an interview with our Scholarship committee (virtual or in-person interviews will be determined at a later date). The Foundation commits to a minimum of $25,000 in scholarships annually.

Post-secondary plans may include a 4-year, 2-year, tech or trade schools, as well as a myriad of other options available to this generation. We’re proud to support Waukee’s alumni as they move into the world. The only thing the Foundation asks in return: Believe that you were made to do big things. Then go and do them!
