Recipients not in attendance on Monday were notified via email, and will receive their scholarships checks in the mail.
“Investing dollars into our seniors is a very practical way of validating their voices, their stories, and their journeys. The Foundation exists to support the students, educators, and families who make up our District and our scholarship program is one of the most tangible ways we can celebrate Waukee’s youth who have positively impacted our community in their years in our schools. The Foundation is honored to stand behind this year’s class of Foundation Scholars because we believe these 25 students are not only our leaders of tomorrow, they’re leaders today, and their voices, stories, and journeys are making a difference in our world,” said Adrianne Towe, Executive Director of the Foundation.
The Foundation wants to give special thanks to our generous donors who helped fund our scholarship program:

Applications were open to all Waukee High School Class of 2021 students. Identities of all 132 applicants were kept secret through the first review by our Scholarship committee, comprised of educators, community members, and Foundation board members. A total of 37 finalists were selected to advance to Zoom interviews, at which time applicants were again evaluated to select this year’s recipients.
