The Board of Directors of the Waukee Community Schools Foundation approved the final round of classroom grants for the 2019-2020 school year at its May meeting. The Board approved four grants at $3,830, bringing this year’s total investment in classroom grants to $54,947. Board President Kristin Broberg said, “While our teachers are currently not able to be in our school buildings, our Foundation is honored to continue our support to make sure they have the classroom tools and experiences ready to go when they do return to the physical classroom. We thank our community partners and donors who help make all of this possible!”

The 2019-2020 school year marks the first time in its 24-year history the Foundation has been able to provide over $100,000 to the Waukee Community School District. In fact, the WCSF was able to invest a total of $118,621 in our schools, teachers, and students.

  • $54,947 in classroom grants

  • $22, 674 in professional development grants

  • $41,000 in scholarships to 41 graduating seniors

“This is an excellent reason to celebrate!” said Gina Campos, Executive Director of the Waukee Community Schools Foundation. “We love providing tools and experiences to our amazing Waukee students. This is certainly a collaborative effort from the Board and all of our amazing volunteers, but a big thanks goes out to our auction committee for working so hard. Without this event, we would not have been able to reach this milestone.”

Our 2020 Annual Auction Event was held in February and raised an amazing $124,000. The Foundation’s mission is to empower all Waukee district students to achieve their aspirations by enhancing their educational experience. We are grateful to all of our supporters, sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped make 2019-2020 our most impactful year yet!
