Students at Waukee High School are experiencing a new level of fitness in their Physical Education classes. Teachers were able to purchase a FITLIGHT Training System through a classroom grant from the Waukee Community Schools Foundation.

The FITLIGHT Trainer is a series of wireless, RGB LED lights powered by a tablet. They are used as targets for the user to deactivate by simply running past, or making physical contact. The lights are programmed as part of the training regimen, and each user must deactivate as they light up. FITLIGHT encourages a new kind of mind-body connection by working to enhance reaction and response time.

The user’s performance can even be analyzed for immediate feedback, or downloaded to computer for further analysis. The system offers a new way to monitor things like speed, agility, and coordination.

Physical Education teachers at Waukee High School have been using the FITLIGHT Training System for a few weeks now. Jay Dahl said, “We are currently learning daily on how best to implement these. The sky is the limit as far as the use of the FITLIGHTS. Thanks again for all the work the Foundation does for our students.”
