New Bus Routes Provide New Opportunities

Waukee, Iowa, June 28 – The Waukee Community Schools Foundation is a 2022 Casey’s Cash for Classrooms grant recipient. The Foundation received $10,000 for transportation costs within the Waukee Community Schools District. The Foundation, in partnership with the District, identified a need for added bus routes to ensure kids who lacked transportation could get home from after school sports and activities.

“We are grateful to receive a Cash for Classrooms grant from Casey’s. This added transportation is such a huge win for our students, families, and communities,” said Adrianne Towe, WCSF Executive Director. “Casey’s is a great community partner that gives back to many schools across its footprint, including ours, through this program.”

“At Casey’s, our goal is for the Cash for Classrooms grants to help schools in areas they have needs and improve the learning environment for the future. Casey’s is here for good and that means supporting students, teachers and families in our local communities,” said Katie Petru, Director of Community at Casey’s.

The transportation funding has already created new opportunities and access for Waukee students. The grant money will also be used for transportation costs during the 2022-21 school year.
