Senior Scholarship Nominations

Senior Scholarship Nominations

The Foundation awards four $2,500 scholarships to each graduating class — two students from Waukee High School and two students from Waukee Northwest High School — and aims to identify and award students who have made a positive impact on their family, school, and community during their time in the Waukee Community School District.

Our scholarship program supports all post-secondary endeavors that qualify for scholarships through the IRS. This includes two- and four-year institutions, certification programs, entrepreneurship programs, military assignments, and workforce programs (e.g. culinary, welding, mechanic programs).

Guidelines:

  • Nominations can only come from WCSD employees. All employee types and tenures are welcome to nominate students.
  • The Foundation does not review GPA or resumés as part of the scoring criteria. We are interested in identifying students who are actively making a positive impact on the people and world around them, in small or big ways, and embody the priorities of the Foundation in how they live, work, play, and build community. Foundation priorities are: Innovation, Wellness, and Sense of Belonging.
  • Each district employee can submit up to two nominations.
  • Nominations are accepted from March 1st to March 31st.
  • Nominees will be notified following the closing of the nomination portal and asked to confirm interest in the scholarship process and schedule their interview time.
  • Award letters and scholarship checks will be presented to four seniors, two from Waukee High School and two from Waukee Northwest High School.
  • All nomination submissions will be shared with nominees following the announcement of scholarship recipients.
